The ear candling procedure is said to have originated in India and is done with a hollow conical waxed cloth candle. The narrow tip is inserted into the ear and the opposite wider end is lit. The heat at the top of the candle creates a vacuum that sucks out the earwax from the ear. There is no heat or pain involved and is actually a very relaxing procedure. Massage therapists, beauty-salon operators and herbalists often provide this ear candling procedure. The procedure takes about an hour. You can also purchase an ear candling kit for approximately $5.00 from health food stores and do the procedure at home with a partner.

This course consists of theory and practice in ear candling, and after its completion the student will be able to successfully practice the art.

Course Outline:

 Auricular Candle  Massage Procedure
Anatomy of the Ear  Diseases treated by ear candling
Pathology of the Ear  Problems that may arise
